The Hiboy Max Pro is a practical electric scooter designed for everyday commuting and casual rides. With surprisingly capable suspension, predictable brakes, comfortable handlebar grips, and useful turn signals, it delivers a pleasant riding experience, although its basic styling, unusual display, and small front headlight leave room for improvement.

Unboxing and Setup

Getting the Hiboy Max Pro ready to ride is quick and straightforward. Unlike products that require extensive assembly, this electric scooter only needs to be unfolded and have a few wires connected. The entire setup took approximately five minutes.

The first impression is less impressive from a design perspective. The scooter looks fairly plain and chunky, and some of its styling details feel unusual. However, its practical qualities become more apparent once you start riding.

Unlocking and Riding Experience

Before riding the Hiboy Max Pro for the first time, there is an unusual step to remember: you need to hold both brake levers for a few seconds to unlock the scooter.

The procedure appears to be intended as a safety measure, but it is not particularly intuitive. It took me a moment to work out how to get the scooter ready to ride.

Once unlocked, the scooter accelerates smoothly to around 25 km/h during my test. The initial push when pulling away makes it feel a little quicker than the speed displayed on the screen.

For everyday journeys, the acceleration feels enjoyable without making the scooter difficult to manage.

Suspension and Ride Comfort

One of the Hiboy Max Pro's strongest features is its suspension. For a scooter in this category, it does a surprisingly good job of absorbing bumps and reducing vibrations underfoot.

This makes a noticeable difference on imperfect roads, where smaller scooters with less effective suspension can feel harsh and uncomfortable. The Max Pro offers a more forgiving ride, helping make everyday trips more pleasant.

The overall ride quality is not perfect, however. The frame feels slightly flexible, and the scooter does not have the exceptionally solid feel of some more premium models. It never felt particularly unstable during my test, but the construction feels a little softer and less rigid than I would ideally like.

Despite that, the scooter handles corners well. It feels composed through turns, and the tires provide reassuring grip on the road.

Handlebar Comfort and Grip

The handlebar grips are another positive detail. They feel comfortable in the hands and remain pleasant to hold while riding.

Some electric scooters have grips that become uncomfortable or cause hand fatigue on longer journeys. I did not find that to be a problem with the Hiboy Max Pro during my test.

The handlebar design itself is less appealing visually, but from a comfort perspective, the grips work well.

Display and Riding Modes

The Hiboy Max Pro has a display integrated directly into the handlebar casing. Its unusual shape makes it stand out, although I personally do not find the design particularly attractive.

Functionally, it works as expected. The power button is built into the display, and double-clicking it allows you to switch between riding modes, including Drive and Sport.

The same button also controls the front light, keeping the main functions within easy reach. While the controls are practical once you understand them, the display's appearance is one of the scooter's less polished design elements.

LED Lighting and Turn Signals

The Hiboy Max Pro includes several useful lighting features. One of the more attractive details is the LED light strip running along the side of the scooter, which gives it a more modern appearance, particularly at night.

It also comes with turn signals, a valuable feature for riders who use their scooters around other traffic. Being able to indicate a turn helps communicate your intentions to surrounding road users.

A traditional bicycle-style bell is included as well. It is a simple addition, but it provides a straightforward way to alert pedestrians and other riders.

The main weakness is the front headlight. It is surprisingly small and provides illumination, but I would prefer a brighter light that inspires more confidence when riding after dark. Riders who regularly travel at night should pay particular attention to their visibility and lighting needs.

Braking Performance

Fortunately, the brakes perform well. During my test, they delivered predictable stopping performance and gave me confidence when slowing down.

Reliable braking is particularly important for an electric scooter used in urban environments, where traffic, pedestrians, and unexpected obstacles can require quick reactions.

Although the Hiboy Max Pro does not feel as solidly built as some higher-end scooters, its braking performance was a reassuring part of the overall riding experience.

Final Verdict: Is the Hiboy Max Pro Worth Considering?

The Hiboy Max Pro is an electric scooter that prioritizes everyday comfort and practicality over premium styling. Its suspension performs well for its category, the handlebar grips are comfortable, the tires provide good grip in corners, and the brakes offer predictable stopping power.

Useful additions such as turn signals and side-mounted LED lighting also make it appealing for regular commuting and casual rides.

However, there are a few compromises. The design is relatively plain, the integrated display looks unusual, the frame feels slightly flexible, and the small front headlight could be better suited to nighttime riding. The brake-lever unlocking procedure is also less intuitive than it should be.

Overall, the Hiboy Max Pro offers an enjoyable riding experience for everyday use. It may not deliver the refined construction or premium appearance of more expensive electric scooters, but its comfortable suspension, practical features, and dependable braking make it a model worth considering for riders looking for a straightforward commuter scooter.
