Deruiz Turmali L Review: A Premium Lightweight E-Bike for 2025
If you’re searching for a sleek, high-end e-bike that combines modern design with real-world performance, the Deruiz Turmali L might just be your perfect match. Today, I'm reviewing the Turmali M, diving into where it shines and where there’s still room for improvement. Let’s get started!
First Impressions: Premium Unboxing Experience
The Deruiz Turmali M makes a strong first impression right out of the box. The packaging feels premium, with high-quality printed details and accessories that immediately set the tone. It's clear that Deruiz cares about the customer experience, not just the product.
Assembly is refreshingly simple: you just mount the front wheel with a single bolt. Honestly, this is the best front-wheel mounting design I’ve seen yet. It’s foolproof, safer, and more secure than the typical setups you find on many other e-bikes.
However, not everything was perfect. Installing the front mudguard was frustrating—the screws didn’t fit properly, and unfortunately, the mudguard even broke on the first day. A rare misstep in an otherwise well-thought-out package. On the plus side, the paddles are sturdy and feel great underfoot.
Stunning Design and Build Quality
One of my favorite parts of the Turmali M is the paint job. I reviewed the black version, which features subtle, colorful sparkles that catch the light beautifully. There’s also a blue version available, and honestly, it looks even better in photos.
Another clever design choice: the headlight and handlebar mounting plate are integrated into a single unit, creating a clean, streamlined look without messy cables or mounts.
Fast Charging and Battery Details
The Turmali M comes with a 4A fast charger—a fantastic inclusion at this price point. Given the relatively small 360Wh battery, you can fully recharge the bike in under 4 hours. Despite the smaller battery size, the lightweight carbon belt drive and efficient motor mean you can still expect impressive range for urban commuting.
Smart Features and App Integration
This e-bike also includes a center-mounted phone holder spot—a thoughtful touch, though you’ll need to purchase a compatible mount separately to make full use of it.
The real standout is the Deruiz E-bike Smart App. It’s easily one of the best e-bike apps I've used, offering:
Real-time bike tracking and location services
Full performance customization
Service center locators
Light control (blink your lights to find the bike in a crowded garage)
Riding stats and trip monitoring
Dashboard mode when mounted on the handlebars
It’s easy to use, responsive, and genuinely adds value to the riding experience.
Riding Experience: Smooth, Silent, and Stable
At the end of the day, it's all about the ride—and the Turmali M absolutely delivers.
Thanks to the torque sensor and carbon belt drive, pedaling feels incredibly smooth, natural, and completely silent. There’s no greasy chain, no clunky shifting—just clean, direct power delivery. However, do note that there are no gears, so if you need a lot of hill-climbing flexibility, this might be a factor to consider.
On the road, the Turmali M feels planted, agile, and stable. With its racer-inspired design and lightweight construction, it handles city streets with ease. Compared to similar e-bikes like the Tenways CGO600 Plus, the Turmali offers a slightly different, sportier feel—I'll be making a full comparison video soon, so stay tuned!
Display and Controls
The display on the Turmali L is the same excellent color display found on the CGO600 Plus—bright, easy to read, and intuitive to use. I particularly love the power usage bar that gives you instant feedback on how much juice you’re using.
