The Pasebike C29 combines mountain-bike-inspired styling with practical city riding features, including front suspension, Shimano 3×7 gearing, a clear display, and useful included accessories. With a 250W motor, a matte black and blue finish, and a price of around €600, it offers plenty of features for the money, although its budget-level build quality and suspension performance have some limitations.

Unboxing and Assembly

The Pasebike C29 comes with several useful accessories in the box, including a phone holder, a throttle, basic tools, and bags designed to attach to the rear of the bike. These extras add value, particularly for riders who want a practical setup for everyday journeys.

Assembly involves installing the front wheel, handlebars, display, pedals, front light, and mudguards. The process took approximately 40 minutes and was relatively straightforward.

For a budget electric bike, the assembly experience was generally positive, and the included accessories help make the C29 feel like a fairly complete package from the start.

Design and Appearance

The Pasebike C29 has the appearance of a mountain bike, but its overall design is better suited to everyday urban riding than demanding off-road adventures.

The matte black and blue colour combination looks good, with the colours carried consistently across the frame. Its slightly forward-leaning geometry gives it a sporty character, somewhere between a city commuter and a gravel-style cruiser.

The Pacebike logo is another distinctive detail. Although the branding has a relatively simple finish, its creative design gives the bike some personality.

Overall, the C29 looks appealing for its price. It is not particularly refined or premium, but the styling is sporty and practical.

Riding Experience and Front Suspension

On the road, the Pasebike C29 delivers a generally acceptable riding experience, particularly for everyday cycling. However, the frame does not feel as confidence-inspiring as I would like.

The front suspension is one area that deserves attention. When compressed firmly, it bottoms out relatively easily, suggesting that its performance may be limited on larger bumps or rougher surfaces.

The bike also showed some resistance when steering from side to side. The cable harness may be contributing to this stiffness, although this would need further inspection to confirm the cause.

These issues do not necessarily make the C29 unsuitable for ordinary city riding, but they are worth considering if you expect a mountain-bike-style ride with confident handling over uneven terrain.

Despite its appearance, I would treat the Pasebike C29 primarily as a budget-friendly commuter rather than a serious off-road electric mountain bike.

Motor Performance: The 250W Version

The model tested here is the 250W version of the Pasebike C29. During the ride, the motor provided enough assistance for ordinary cycling in the Netherlands, where relatively flat roads are common.

For commuting, leisure rides, and general urban use, the available assistance felt adequate. Riders looking for a simple electric bike rather than a high-performance machine should find this setup more appropriate for everyday needs.

The C29 is also advertised in a more powerful 1,000W configuration. That version sounds interesting on paper, but its actual performance would need to be tested separately. A higher motor rating alone does not guarantee better handling or a more balanced riding experience.

It is also important to check the exact specification and local regulations before choosing a higher-powered version, particularly if you intend to ride on public roads in Europe.

Display and Shimano Gears

The Pasebike C29 uses a familiar, straightforward display design. Although it is not particularly advanced, the screen is practical and easy to understand, which is often preferable to a complicated interface on an affordable electric bike.

One of its more notable features is the Shimano 3×7 drivetrain. The left-hand shifter controls the three front chainring gears, while the right-hand shifter operates the seven rear gears.

This combination provides a broad selection of mechanical gears for adjusting your pedalling effort to different conditions. It is a useful feature for riders who want to maintain an active cycling style rather than relying entirely on the electric motor.

The overall technical setup is uncomplicated, but it offers a reasonable range of functions for the price.

Accessories and Everyday Practicality

The included accessories are a welcome part of the Pasebike C29 package. The phone holder can be useful for navigation, while the rear bags provide extra carrying capacity for commuting or shopping.

The bike also comes with mudguards, which are particularly practical for everyday use in wet conditions. Together, these features make it more convenient for routine journeys than a bare-bones electric mountain bike.

However, the stiff steering feel and limited suspension performance are worth keeping in mind. The C29's equipment list looks attractive, but real-world comfort and handling are just as important as the number of accessories included.

Is the Pasebike C29 Worth Buying?

The Pasebike C29 is an affordable electric bike that offers a sporty design, front suspension, Shimano 3×7 gearing, a simple display, and several useful accessories. Its 250W motor is suitable for ordinary city riding, and the matte black and blue finish gives it an attractive appearance.

Its main weaknesses are the budget-level build quality, suspension that bottoms out relatively easily, and steering that felt somewhat resistant during testing. These limitations make it less appealing for riders who expect refined handling or serious off-road performance.

With a retail price of around €600 at the time of our review, the C29 offers a substantial amount of equipment for the money. It is not an elegant or particularly polished electric bike, but it provides a practical collection of features at an accessible price.

My verdict: The Pasebike C29 is worth considering if you want an affordable electric bike for everyday riding and value its included accessories and sporty styling. If ride refinement, suspension performance, and precise handling are your top priorities, it may be worth investing in a higher-quality model.
