Unboxing and Assembly

The Tenways AGO X arrives mostly assembled, so getting it ready to ride is relatively straightforward.

There are only a few things to install, including the handlebars, front wheel, pedals, fenders, and saddle adjustment.

The entire process took me around 20 minutes.

One detail that immediately impressed me was the handlebar mounting system. Tenways uses the component that secures the handlebar as part of the front light assembly.

It's a clever solution that keeps the cockpit clean while combining two components into one.

Installing the front wheel was also surprisingly easy. Sometimes getting a front wheel properly seated can be a bit of a struggle, but on the AGO X, everything lined up smoothly.

When it comes to brakes, predictable and reliable is exactly what you want.

The Design Is a Major Highlight

The design is probably one of the most memorable aspects of the Tenways AGO X.

The green paint is already attractive, but the integrated sparkle in the finish takes it to another level.

It's difficult to fully capture on camera, but in person, the subtle sparkle gives the frame a much more interesting appearance as the light changes.

It doesn't feel like a generic green e-bike.

Integrated Lighting

Tenways also did something unusual with the lighting.

There are integrated lights underneath the seat area that create a futuristic visual effect.

I wouldn't say these lights are essential from a practical perspective, but they look fantastic.

The same design language continues toward the rear of the bike.

Underneath the rear rack is a modern-looking integrated rear light that fits neatly into the frame and keeps the overall design clean.

These details aren't necessarily what make the bike ride better, but they make the AGO X feel much more distinctive.

What Could Be Better?

The Tenways AGO X is an impressive bike, but it isn't perfect.

There are a few details I think could be improved.

Chain Guard

The chain guard is a useful addition, but I think it could be longer.

A larger cover would provide better protection for the chain and improve the overall functionality of the system.

Rear Passenger Seat

The rear passenger seat is supported by only two support rods.

Personally, I would have preferred four.

With the current setup, I wouldn't consider it strong enough for carrying another adult.

A four-support design could potentially provide significantly more stability and confidence.

Battery Assistance at Low Charge

The battery itself works well, but there is one behavior I found disappointing.

When the battery gets very low, the bike largely stops providing motor assistance.

This may help preserve the remaining battery capacity, but from the rider's perspective, it can be frustrating when you still have some charge left but suddenly lose most of the assistance.

Battery Removal System

The battery removal system is probably my biggest design criticism.

The battery cover and battery itself are separate pieces.

When you remove the battery, you end up holding two separate components.

I think it would make much more sense if the cover were integrated with the battery itself.

That would make the removal process simpler and reduce the number of separate parts you have to deal with.

It's a small design decision, but changing it would make everyday battery handling much more convenient.

Value for Money

Despite these compromises, the AGO X offers an impressive overall package.

The riding experience feels much more expensive than the actual price suggests.

The combination of a mid-drive motor, Shimano components, excellent comfort, quiet operation, and distinctive design gives the bike a premium character.

In some ways, it reminds me of the riding experience you'd expect from a much more expensive German e-bike.

But the AGO X achieves that experience at a fraction of the price.

And in my opinion, the design is arguably more interesting than many of those traditional premium bikes.

The Tenways AGO X is one of those e-bikes where the riding experience is the biggest selling point.

It isn't simply about having a powerful motor or a long list of specifications.

It's about how everything works together.

The mid-drive motor delivers smooth and natural assistance.

The bike pedals easily even without the motor.

The saddle is extremely comfortable, the Shimano brakes work well, and the entire bike is remarkably quiet.

Then there's the design.

The green paint with its subtle sparkle, the integrated lighting, and the clever handlebar/light combination give the AGO X a personality that many e-bikes simply don't have.

There are some things I'd like to see improved, particularly the battery removal system, chain guard, and rear passenger seat support.

But these are relatively small issues compared with the overall package.

It combines premium ride quality, excellent comfort, smart design, and everyday usability in a package that offers genuinely impressive value.
