The Deepower QS7 is a distinctive fat tire electric bike designed around comfort, with dual batteries, front and rear suspension, a large cushioned seat, and a passenger seat. Its relaxed riding position, simple speed modes, and unique blue-gray frame make it an interesting option for riders looking for a comfortable, practical e-bike. However, shipping damage and inconsistent pedal assistance are worth considering.

Assembly and First Impressions

Assembling the Deepower QS7 involves several steps, including fitting the handlebars, front wheel, front fender, pedals, front light, side lights, and passenger seat. Although there are quite a few components to install, the process was manageable and should be achievable even for riders with limited assembly experience.

Once assembled, the QS7 presents itself as a substantial fat tire e-bike with a distinctive design. Its large seat, round headlight, and extended rear seating area give it a solid, substantial appearance.

Shipping Damage and Customer Support

One issue stood out during our experience with the Deepower QS7: the condition of the bike upon delivery. Unfortunately, this happened with two separate bikes, making it difficult to overlook.

The first bike arrived with a broken battery mount, a severely damaged right brake, and visible damage to one of its two batteries. Deepower's customer support responded promptly and sent replacement parts without hesitation, which was a positive experience.

However, the second bike also arrived with a problem. One of the pins on the battery mount was bent out of alignment, and the shipping box was heavily battered. Fortunately, the pin was relatively easy to correct.

These experiences do not necessarily mean every QS7 will arrive damaged, but they do raise concerns about shipping and packaging. Improving the protection of the bike during transit, or reviewing the shipping arrangements, would help prevent similar problems.

The responsive customer support was reassuring, but ideally, buyers should not need replacement parts or repairs before they can enjoy a new e-bike.

Riding Comfort and Suspension

Comfort is where the Deepower QS7 really stands out. The seat is generously sized and comfortable, while the front and rear suspension work together to absorb bumps and soften the impact of uneven surfaces.

During testing, riding over a pavement edge and dropping back down felt much smoother than expected. Instead of transmitting every bump directly to the rider, the suspension helps keep the ride controlled and comfortable.

The rear suspension is particularly important for a bike with a passenger seat. On some fat tire bikes, the rear passenger may have to sit on a relatively hard, unforgiving structure. The QS7's suspension helps make the experience more comfortable for someone sitting at the back.

For riders who prioritize a relaxed riding position over a sporty feel, this combination of a large seat and front and rear suspension is one of the bike's strongest selling points.

Passenger Seat and Rear Seating

The Deepower QS7 features an extended rear seating area that adds to its practical, utility-oriented design. Combined with the rear suspension, it provides a more comfortable passenger experience than a rigid rear platform would.

During the test, the seat felt spacious enough to accommodate more than one rider closely positioned together. However, the ability to physically fit multiple people on the seat should not be confused with permission or safety to carry them.

Always follow the manufacturer's specified passenger capacity and maximum load limits. The bike should only carry the number of riders it is designed and legally permitted to accommodate.

Throttle Performance and Pedal Assistance

The QS7's throttle performed consistently during the test, bringing the bike to approximately 26 km/h. For riders who appreciate straightforward throttle operation, this was a positive aspect of the riding experience.

Pedal assistance was less impressive. When starting to pedal without using the throttle first, the motor could take a second or longer to respond. This delay made the transition from pedalling to motor assistance feel less immediate than expected.

A slower response from a pedal sensor is not unusual on some budget-oriented e-bikes, but it remains a drawback. Riders who frequently start and stop in traffic may notice this delay more than those riding at a steady pace.

Overall, the throttle worked well, but the pedal-assist response could be more responsive and consistent.

Simple Speed Modes and Handlebar Controls

Rather than using the more familiar plus and minus buttons found on many electric bikes, the Deepower QS7 has a single small button for selecting its three riding modes.

During testing, the modes corresponded to the following speeds:

  • Mode 1: Approximately 15 km/h

  • Mode 2: Approximately 20 km/h

  • Mode 3: Approximately 25 km/h

This straightforward system is easy to understand and offers a simple way to select a speed setting without navigating a complicated control layout.

The bike also has a horn with a sound typical of many fat tire e-bikes, along with Shimano gears. The gearing is a familiar, practical feature, although it was not a particular highlight of the test.

Actual permitted speeds and settings may vary depending on the bike's configuration and the regulations where it is used.

Round Display and Lighting

The Deepower QS7 uses a round display that looks different from the rectangular screens commonly found on electric bikes. Its clean, simple appearance suits the overall design, and it was one of my favorite visual details on the bike.

The large, round front headlight also contributes to the QS7's distinctive look. Together with the side lights and extended rear section, it gives the bike a bold appearance that is easy to recognize.

The combination of practical controls and unusual styling helps the QS7 stand apart from many conventional fat tire electric bikes.

Design and Build Appearance

The QS7 has a look of its own. The blue-gray frame works particularly well with the brown seat, creating a coordinated color combination that feels more refined than the styling of many typical fat tire bikes.

Its large round headlight, substantial frame, and extended rear seat make it look like a solid, purposeful machine. Rather than following the same visual formula as many other fat tire e-bikes, the QS7 has its own character.

The round display reinforces this approach, adding another distinctive detail without making the handlebar area look cluttered.

Overall, the design is one of the bike's strengths, especially for riders who want something visually different from a standard fat tire e-bike.

Is the Deepower QS7 Worth Buying?

The Deepower QS7 is a comfort-focused fat tire electric bike with several appealing features. Its dual-battery configuration, comfortable seat, front and rear suspension, passenger seating area, and distinctive styling make it an interesting option for riders who value a relaxed riding experience.

The suspension is the standout feature, particularly when riding over uneven surfaces or when considering comfort for someone seated at the rear. The throttle also performed consistently during testing, and the simple three-mode control system is easy to use.

There are, however, two important drawbacks. First, pedal assistance can respond slowly when starting without the throttle. Second, both bikes we received experienced shipping-related damage, although Deepower's customer support handled the first case promptly and the second issue was relatively easy to fix.

Overall, the Deepower QS7 offers an appealing combination of comfort, suspension, and distinctive design, but shipping quality and pedal-assist responsiveness deserve consideration before buying. If comfort is your main priority, it is worth a closer look. I would also like to see better protection during shipping to ensure that customers can enjoy the bike as intended from the moment it arrives.
