Evercross EV10K Pro Review: A Budget E-Scooter with Surprising Features

If you're looking for a budget-friendly electric scooter with a solid build, decent speed, and rear suspension, the Evercross EV10K Pro might be worth considering. With a 500W motor, 10-inch solid tires, and a foldable handlebar, this e-scooter offers a mix of performance and portability. Let’s dive into the details and see if it’s the right fit for you.

First Impressions & Assembly

Straight out of the box, the EV10K Pro feels well-built. Assembly is minimal—just four bolts to secure the handlebar, and you're ready to ride. The tall foldable handlebar locks in place securely, with no noticeable wobble, making for a stable ride.

The LCD display is neatly integrated into the stem, giving the scooter a sleek and modern look. However, integrated screens are fairly standard in e-scooters these days, so this isn't necessarily a standout feature.

Controls & Assist Settings

One of the quirks of the EV10K Pro is its single-button control system. Adjusting the power assist settings can be a bit frustrating. The button first activates night mode, dimming the screen and turning on the lights. Only after this step can you adjust the assist levels. However, night mode is locked at 6 km/h, and in other modes, the light doesn’t turn on unless adjusted via the Bluetooth app—which is inconvenient.

Build Quality & Ride Comfort

For a budget e-scooter, the EV10K Pro is quite sturdy. The rear fender is strong enough to stand on, despite a sticker advising against it. The 10-inch solid tires eliminate the risk of flats but make the ride bumpier compared to air-filled tires. Fortunately, the rear suspension helps smooth out the ride, though it does feel a bit too soft at times.

The deck is spacious, and the taller handlebars make it comfortable even for larger riders.

Braking System

The scooter only has a rear brake, which works fine but could be better. A front brake would significantly improve stopping power. At its top speed of 30 km/h (18.6 mph), fully engaging the brake locks up the rear wheel, causing it to skid rather than stop quickly. While it may look cool, it’s not great for tire longevity.

Evercross EV10K Pro Specifications

  • Motor: 500W front-wheel motor

  • Battery: 36V 12Ah

  • Top Speed: 30 km/h (18.6 mph)

  • Max Range: 35-40 km (22-25 miles)

  • Max Load: 150 kg (330 lbs)

  • Weight: 16 kg (35.3 lbs)

Performance & Acceleration

The 500W motor is located in the front wheel, which is common for budget scooters. However, rear-wheel motors generally offer better traction and balance. Acceleration is decent but not overly powerful. The scooter is capped at 25 km/h by default, but through the companion app, you can increase it to 30 km/h, making it feel noticeably snappier.

In the Netherlands, electric scooters are technically illegal, so it’s puzzling why manufacturers bother limiting the speed. If you’re already using it outside of regulations, a higher speed option would have been a welcome feature.

Suspension & Ride Quality

One of the highlights of the EV10K Pro is its rear suspension. While slightly too soft, it greatly enhances ride comfort. If you’ve never used a scooter with suspension before, you’ll immediately notice the difference—it feels smoother and more premium.

Final Thoughts: Is the Evercross EV10K Pro Worth It?

Overall, the Evercross EV10K Pro is a great budget e-scooter with a solid build and decent features. The quirky night mode, lack of a front brake, and front-wheel motor are minor drawbacks, but for the price, it’s a solid option.
