Tenways CGO600 Plus vs. DYU Stroll 1: Which Urban E-Bike is Right for You?

If you’re looking for a sleek and efficient urban e-bike, the Tenways CGO600 Plus and the DYU Stroll 1 are two solid options. But with a $700 price gap—the Tenways at $1,700 and the DYU at $999—does spending more really get you a better bike?

Let’s break it down and see which one suits your riding style best.

Design & Build Quality

Both bikes are designed for city riding, but they have different approaches to style and construction.

  • Tenways CGO600 Plus: Minimalist, sleek, and lightweight at just 19kg (42 lbs). It has internal cable routing, smooth welds, and a matte finish, giving it a premium look.

  • DYU Stroll 1: A bit more utilitarian, but still well-built and light at 19.5kg (46 lbs). The design is simpler, but it gets the job done.

First Impressions

The CGO600 Plus immediately feels high-end, like a true commuter bike designed for effortless city rides. The Stroll 1, while more budget-conscious, still feels solid for its price.

Motor & Performance

Both bikes use 250W rear hub motors, but their power delivery is quite different:

  • CGO600 Plus: Uses a torque sensor, providing a smooth and natural pedal-assist experience.

  • Stroll 1: Uses a cadence sensor, meaning the motor kicks in more like an on/off switch. It actually peaks at 500W, giving it a bit more punch.

Which One Feels Faster?

While the Stroll 1 technically has more power, the CGO600 Plus delivers it more smoothly, making for a more refined ride. The Stroll 1 can feel jerky at times due to the cadence sensor. If you prefer a natural, effortless pedaling experience, the Tenways wins here.

Gears & Drivetrain

  • CGO600 Plus: 8-speed Shimano drivetrain with a traditional chain.

  • Stroll 1: 7-speed Shimano drivetrain with a traditional chain.

Both bikes perform well on hills, but the Stroll 1 actually feels a bit lighter uphill due to its cadence sensor giving an extra boost. The CGO600 Plus requires more effort, making it a better option for those who want a workout.

Battery & Range

Battery life depends on factors like rider weight, terrain, and assist level, but here’s what each bike offers:

  • CGO600 Plus: 36V 10Ah battery with up to 100km of range (in ideal conditions).

  • Stroll 1: 36V 9Ah battery with up to 80km of range.

The Stroll 1 isn’t as efficient, partly because of the cadence sensor, which tends to use more power. If range is a priority, the CGO600 Plus has the edge.

Ride Comfort

  • CGO600 Plus: Feels light, agile, and sporty—ideal for quick city rides. The torque sensor makes the motor feel like an extension of your pedaling.

  • Stroll 1: A bit stiffer and less nimble, but easier to pedal thanks to the cadence sensor.

If you prefer a natural-feeling ride, the CGO600 Plus is the better choice. If you don’t like heavy pedaling and prefer easier acceleration, the Stroll 1 might be a better fit.

Brakes & Safety

Both bikes come with hydraulic brakes, which is expected on the CGO600 Plus, but a nice surprise on the budget-friendly Stroll 1. Braking performance is solid on both models.

Features & Tech

  • CGO600 Plus:

    • Clean color display.

    • Well-designed phone app for tracking rides.

    • Integrated front light, though it doesn’t shine very far.

  • Stroll 1:

    • Basic LCD display, no phone app.

    • Simpler but much better front light—it’s adjustable and shines farther.

While the CGO600 Plus has more tech features, the Stroll 1’s light is surprisingly better.

Which One Should You Buy?

  • If you want a premium urban e-bike with smooth power delivery, better range, and a refined ride experience, go for the Tenways CGO600 Plus.

  • If you’re on a budget, just need a comfortable commuter, and prefer a cadence sensor for easier pedaling, the DYU Stroll 1 is a great choice under $1,000.
