Enersoar Eco Review: An Ultra-Light Carbon Full-Suspension E-MTB

The Enersoar Eco stands out with an impressive combination of a full carbon frame, full suspension, a dropper seatpost, a mid-drive motor, and an incredibly low weight of just 18 kg. If the final production version delivers on its potential, this could be one of the most affordable carbon full-suspension e-MTBs on the market.
Design and Weight
The first thing that caught my attention was the frame. The carbon-fiber construction gives the bike a clean and premium appearance, and the paint finish looks excellent.
But the biggest advantage of the carbon frame is the weight.
At around 18 kg, this is remarkably light for a full-suspension electric mountain bike. Many e-MTBs with similar equipment are significantly heavier, so the Eco immediately has an advantage when it comes to handling, carrying, and maneuverability.
The wide MTB-style handlebar also provides excellent control on the trail, although it does make the bike harder to fit through narrow doors or store indoors.
Suspension: One of the Highlights
The suspension is probably one of the strongest parts of the Eco.
The front fork is fully adjustable and has a very good balance between comfort and control. It feels soft enough to absorb rough terrain without becoming excessively soft or uncontrolled.
During my testing, I wasn't able to bottom it out, even when riding aggressively downhill. That's a very positive sign.
The rear shock also performs well. The shock on my test bike arrived slightly too soft from the factory, but after adding some air, it felt much better and provided a good balance between comfort and support.
For a bike in this category, the suspension performance is genuinely impressive.
Tires and Pedals
The Kenda tires provide plenty of grip on both dirt and asphalt. They give the bike a confident feel when riding on loose surfaces and help make the most of the suspension setup.
The pedals are another detail I really appreciate. They use CNC-machined aluminum with large pins, providing excellent grip.
That's more important than it might sound. A slippery pedal can easily cause your foot to come off during aggressive riding, potentially leading to a crash. With these pedals, I never had that problem.
Dropper Seatpost
One of my favorite features is the handlebar-controlled hydraulic dropper seatpost.
Being able to lower or raise the saddle instantly is extremely useful when riding technical terrain or descending at speed. You can lower the center of gravity for downhill sections and raise the saddle again for climbing.
It's exactly the kind of feature that makes a proper mountain bike feel much more capable.
Drivetrain and Climbing
The Eco uses a multi-speed drivetrain with a particularly low climbing gear.
That low gear is very useful when tackling steep climbs and technical terrain. It allows you to maintain a comfortable cadence even when the trail gets seriously steep.
The mid-drive motor also provides good torque and feels well suited to mountain biking.
However, don't expect it to climb everything without effort. On very steep sections, around 25°, you still need to put some work into the pedals. The motor helps, but this is still a bicycle—not a magic elevator.
Brakes and Setup
The brakes have plenty of potential and perform well once properly adjusted.
However, the brakes on my test bike were not correctly set up out of the box. The same was true of the gears, which were noticeably misadjusted.
This is frustrating, especially on an e-MTB that can reach around 40 km/h on downhill sections.
That said, after adjustment, the brakes worked very well and provided the stopping power and confidence I would expect from a bike designed for aggressive riding.
Because this was a pre-production unit, I'm hoping these setup issues will be resolved before the final production bikes reach customers.
Battery and Frame Integration
The battery is integrated directly into the frame, which gives the Eco a very clean appearance.
The downside is that the battery isn't particularly easy to remove. If you normally charge your bike indoors while storing it somewhere else, this could become an inconvenience.
On the positive side, the charging port is beautifully integrated into the frame and protected by a small cover. It's a simple detail, but it keeps the design looking clean and finished.
Small Details That Matter
There are several smaller details that show some thought has gone into the design.
The frame includes rubber protection pieces to help prevent stone chips and other trail damage. The grips are round, comfortable, and provide plenty of grip even during longer rides.
The saddle is comfortable enough, although nothing particularly special.
There were also a few details on my pre-production bike that need improvement.
For example, the plastic protective covers around the front fork started moving around at high speeds and created an annoying flapping noise. That's something I would definitely expect the manufacturer to address before production.
The branding on the frame was also incorrect. The logo itself was correct, but the name printed on the frame referred to the company behind the brand rather than the actual bike brand.
Again, these are the kinds of issues that can hopefully be fixed before the production version.
What Could Be Improved?
The Eco has a lot going for it, but there are several things I'd like to see improved:
Gear adjustment: The drivetrain was poorly adjusted on my test bike.
Brake adjustment: The brakes also needed setup before proper riding.
Front fork covers: They can create an annoying flapping noise at high speed.
Automatic shutdown: The bike turns itself off after around five minutes of inactivity, which feels unnecessarily short.
Battery removal: The integrated battery looks great but isn't particularly convenient to remove.
Handlebar width: Great for trail control, but inconvenient for storage and transportation.
Branding: The pre-production frame had incorrect branding.
Most importantly, it's worth remembering that this was not a final production bike.
Final Verdict
The Enersoar Eco has the ingredients of a seriously impressive e-MTB.
A carbon-fiber frame, full suspension, hydraulic dropper post, mid-drive motor, capable tires, and an 18 kg total weight is an extremely attractive combination.
The suspension is one of the biggest highlights, the bike feels incredibly light for an electric mountain bike, and the overall equipment suggests that Enersoar is aiming much higher than the typical budget e-bike market.
There are definitely some rough edges, particularly with the setup and a few small design details. But if Enersoar fixes these issues on the final production version, the Eco could become a very interesting option for riders looking for a lightweight, capable, and relatively affordable carbon e-MTB.
For me, the potential is the most exciting part. If the production bike delivers the same riding experience while fixing the issues found on this pre-production unit, this could be a seriously compelling bike.
