Hey there!Today, we’re putting two sleek urban e-bikes head to head: the Deruiz Turmali L and the Tenways CGO600 Plus. Both promise premium features and smooth city riding — but they take very different approaches. Let’s dive in and see which one might be the better fit for you.
[UNBOXING & FIRST IMPRESSIONS]
Starting with the Deruiz Turmali L — the unboxing feels genuinely premium. Beautiful branding, well-labeled accessory boxes, and sharp packaging give a great first impression.
The Tenways CGO600 Plus also arrives well-packed — compact, protective, and clean. Not as stylishly branded as the Deruiz, but still solid. Plus, it includes a fast 3A charger.
Both are quick and simple to assemble, but I’ll give the edge to Deruiz for feeling slightly more refined right out of the box...Except for that front fender. That thing was a nightmare — hard to install, and it actually broke after my first ride. A real letdown on an otherwise polished setup.
Mounting the front wheel? Deruiz wins again. Their system is brilliantly engineered — probably that German touch. The Tenways uses a standard quick-release, which is fine, just not as slick.
[DESIGN & BUILD QUALITY]
Design-wise, both bikes look fantastic.
The Turmali L has a beautiful paint finish — deep color, ultra-smooth surface — and thoughtful details like a combined headlight/handlebar mounting plate. It’s all very integrated and sleek.
Tenways, on the other hand, keeps it minimalist. Matte finish, clean welds, solid build. But to get 8 gears, they’ve swapped the carbon belt for a traditional chain — so you gain versatility, but lose some of that silent, low-maintenance appeal.
Small touches worth noting:
Tenways has a very sturdy rear fender and kickstand.
Deruiz wins on overall frame quality and part integration — it just feels a notch more premium.
[PERFORMANCE & RIDING EXPERIENCE]
Now let’s talk riding.
Tenways CGO600 Plus runs a torque sensor, sinewave controller, and Shimano 8-speed drivetrain. It’s smooth, versatile, and handles hills well — but it doesn’t launch off the line. A tiny boost at low speed would’ve been nice.
Deruiz Turmali L also uses a torque sensor, with a 35Nm rear hub motor and carbon belt drive. It’s ultra quiet, super efficient — and surprisingly punchy.Downside? No gears. So while you get better acceleration and silence, it’s less flexible for steep hills or windy days.
Weight-wise, the Deruiz is a little lighter at around 17.8 kg, but both bikes are nimble and manageable.
[DISPLAY, APP & EXTRAS]
Both bikes include excellent displays and apps.
Tenways finally upgraded the CGO600 Plus with a full-color screen — crisp layout, smart power usage bar, easy to read. The app lets you track mileage, tweak settings, and update firmware.
Deruiz uses what looks like the exact same display — but the app experience actually goes a bit further. You get full bike tracking, performance tuning, service center locators, light-flashing to find it in a garage — the works.
So in this category, Deruiz slightly edges ahead for app features and customization.
[LIGHTING]
The Tenways front light is bright, but only lights about 2 meters ahead — not great if you're riding outside of well-lit areas.
The Turmali L headlight is not just brighter (120 lux), but also better integrated — built into the handlebar mount and angle-adjustable on the fly. Very practical, and it looks great too.
[CHARGING & BATTERY]
Tenways ships with a 3A charger — fast, solid.Deruiz goes even further with a 4A charger, making top-ups noticeably quicker.
Battery-wise, both bikes use relatively compact packs — 360Wh on the Deruiz — but thanks to its lighter frame and efficient motor, the Turmali squeezes out surprising range from that small battery.
[FINAL THOUGHTS – WHICH ONE’S FOR YOU?]
So — which one should you get?
Pick the Tenways CGO600 Plus if you want:
8-speed flexibility for various terrain
A traditional chain drive that’s easy to maintain
A clean and reliable riding experience from an established brand
Pick the Deruiz Turmali L if you want:
Sleek, ultra-premium design
Lightweight frame with maintenance-free belt drive
Smoother acceleration and quieter rides
A more advanced app and faster charging
Honestly, both are excellent options — but the better choice depends on how and where you ride.
